“Thank You for Easing Our Burden”I wanted to send you a huge thank you for providing our family support during my daughter’s stay at Golisano Children’s Hospital last week. We greatly appreciate your support in food and gas. It helped us not have to spend that much more money on those essential. I appreciate your agency and mission. Thank you so much.
“Thank You for Shining a Light”My husband Ian and I have 2 medically complex children. The boys are part of the palliative program with Sara Fisher. She told us your story and we were so moved by it. Thank you for making a foundation for children with serious medically complications. This road isn’t easy, no parent should have to go through this. However your act of kindness helps shines a light on our dark days. We will continue to send a pray for Kara and her family. May God bless you 🤍
“Making the Road Easier for Us”I just wanted to personally reach out and tell you how amazing and grateful I am because of the Kara Fund. My daughter Lilliann who turned 4 in March has Zellwegers disease, along with leukodystrophy and many other health complications and is on palliative care through the Gallisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, which is 3 hours from home. I’m a single mama and with the help of gift cards I can get food in the cafeteria and gas to get home when it’s discharged time. I am so thankful for this extra help. I just wanted to reach out and say THANK YOU for all you do.
“A Wagon Full of Joy”
Hello, my name is Erika and I would like to reach out to say thank you! My son Nathan has a disease that is not curable and you guys were gracious enough to help purchase this wagon for my son Nathan. He is very excited to be able to have this for September 3rd. We will definitely be using this to go places with him and make him able to get around with us a lot more. I have attached a photo of Nathan with the wonder fold wagon he got with your help. So again THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Erika, Nathan’s Mom
“Hope on the Road Ahead”My family is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love from our community! We cannot begin to express our sincere gratitude. When cancer hit us a year ago, we, like many others, were not prepared. We had nothing saved, and we immediately left our jobs to care for our daughter. Our car died a week before she got sick; my husband has been riding his motorcycle to work (an hour away), and with winter on its way, we were in quite a pickle. We used the funds you raised to purchase a safe and reliable vehicle to help us transport our daughter to her appointments. She is a St. Jude patient and we travel to Memphis, Tennessee several times a year for scans and follow-up appointments. You have no idea how much having a reliable and safe vehicle has helped us. We are blown away that your organizations pulled together to help our little family. When cancer strikes you feel isolated, scared, and so alone. Even more so after treatment is over. We are still trying to find our footing in this ‘new normal.’ It’s a wonderful feeling to know that we have a community behind us, supporting us, every step of the way.
